In 2016, a group of mothers came together at Burnett Bayland Park with the goal of providing a safe and healthy space for their children to play and engage in community.
Madres del Parque organization began as a clean up team of mothers and their children and has since grown into a space of community. The work has shifted to include walks and talks that have given us deep insight to the huge need for access to green spaces, healthy food, education, nature, community and connection.
We know that individuals’ life expectancy is tied to one’s zip code and Madres strives for community wellbeing. We define wellbeing holistically as financial, physical, mental, and environmental wellness.
